First visit, good food and enjoyed the place, but the poor counter person was trying to serve tables too. Loud music -- we asked them to lower the volume and they did.
Harvest Moon Café and Caterers
About this place
Harvest Moon Café and Caterers sits in Spring Valley, New York, with a cozy dining room that greets you before the first plate arrives. The neighborhood sets a slower rhythm, and rustic details makes it feel like a place people return to on purpose.
Come hungry for pizza. Follow with plates built for sharing if you are sharing, and keep the kitchen's daily strengths in mind when the table wants one more plate.
Small courtesies matter here: a clear recommendation, a topped-up water glass, a table that does not feel flipped. Weeknights usually run quieter than weekends. The listing address is 811 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Spring Valley, NY 10977.
Save Harvest Moon Café and Caterers when you want Spring Valley dining without the noise of rankings - just pizza and a table that behaves like it belongs to the block.
Before you visit, skim recent neighbor notes on the listing and confirm hours on the door. Platefolk keeps this page as a field guide, not a frozen brochure - the best proof is still sitting down for a meal.
What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a Harvest Moon Café and Caterers visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

The baguettes are incredible! The pastrys are really good. Very well priced and great service.
I go here all the time since moving to chestnut ridge. They have top shelf food at very reasonable prices. The coffee is always fresh and smooth. The service is family like. The ambiance is very chill, homey and small town. My 7 year old loves their foods and snacks. Great place.
Small but beautiful store tucked in a quiet residential neighborhood. Fresh pastries and delicious omellette. We enjoyed our brunch in a cool but sunny weekend morning. Our host Katherine is super friendly and sweet.
Great food and pastries! You can taste that the pastries are extremely fresh!! The food is always good and we have been loving the takeout Tuesday specials! Highly recommend :-)
They were extremely nice. The fries are extremely good and seasoned well. The burger was cute. The wrap had a nice taste to it. The wrap kindof felt like it was missing something, but was good none the less. The nitro cold brew was nice because it wasn't too acidic and it went well with the sweetcream.
Cute stop and the coffee was decent. Take note there is NO WIFI, plan accordingly. Great for a small group coffee stop or lunch but not recommended for work. Restroom is not new but is clean and safe. Reasonably priced for a basic latte, but specialty drinks are significantly more costly. Drinks cost more than posted price, remember to ask what’s current. For example Mezzo chai/caffe latte is currently $4.95, not $4.50
Rustic, cozy place - we came for breakfast but they may be more well known for the wood fired pizza.Overall, it was a pleasant meal (build your own omelette and french toast) and we took home a slice of basque cheesecake.Inside seating had about 5 tables and some window facing seats. The windowsill needs to be dusted, as there are cobwebs on the plants.
